Happy birthday to me!
Birthdays are a time for reflection as well as celebration. A time to think about how far we've come and where we want to go in the future.
Reflecting on my journey so far led me to think about my philosophy of life, what I believe. Serendipitously - or perhaps it was fate - I chanced across this which seemed to pretty well sum it all up.

I especially like that "Age is just a number" bit as well as the cherish every moment of love bit. Having a love to cherish makes the mounting "numbers" a little easier to bear. |
Have a very Happy Birthday Dorothy :)

DeleteHappy Birthday, Dorothy! :-) Here's to many more years of living and blogging!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Carmen.
DeleteHappy Birthday and sending tons of wishes that you have a great day and a fulfilling year. I also liked your Hawthorne quote of the day. Your blog is an example of that!
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely thing to say. Thank you.
DeleteI'm glad you had a lovely birthday Dorothy. Love that saying you found. So very true! I spent my 60th birthday in hospital -- but at least the nurses sang Happy Birthday to me and I got a cupcake with sprinkles delivered with my lunch :-)
ReplyDeleteI hope you are feeling much better by now, Jayne. The hospital is no place to spend such an important milestone in your life, but if it makes you better able to enjoy the rest of your life, it is certainly worth it.
