Poetry Sunday: Don't Hesitate by Mary Oliver
How about we share another Mary Oliver poem? After all, you can never have too many of those. In this one, the poet seems to acknowledge that it is often hard to simply live in and enjoy the moment, perhaps because we are afraid it can't last. She urges us to give in to that moment and fully experience the joy. Although "much can never be redeemed, still, life has some possibility left." Don't Hesitate by Mary Oliver If you suddenly and unexpectedly feel joy, don’t hesitate. Give in to it. There are plenty of lives and whole towns destroyed or about to be. We are not wise, and not very often kind. And much can never be redeemed. Still, life has some possibility left. Perhaps this is its way of fighting back, that sometimes something happens better than all the riches or power in the world. It could be anything, but very likely you notice it in the instant when love begins. Anyway, that’s often the case. Anyway, whatever it is, don’t be afraid of its plenty. Joy is no...
It's a big backyard with a neat layout. No blooms this time? Finally the winter did its work. I hope your dormant garden wakes up more verdant and bloomer than ever. ;-)
ReplyDeleteThe blooms that I showed you a couple of weeks ago are still there, but you can't see them in these pictures.
DeleteVery nice, roomy yard. And, might I add, no snow. Sigh....
ReplyDeleteNo snow and hardly even any frost so far.
DeleteNice yard even in winter! My favorite color blue just adds the perfect touch. The cobalt glass is nearly the color of my front door.
ReplyDeleteI've used various colors for the pots in my yard over the years, but I think this shade of blue is one of the most successful. It is nice to have SOMETHING colorful in the yard during winter!
DeleteI always love when you show the "big picture" as it were of your yard. The blue pots make a bright accent at this time of year. Very nice!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Judy. The "big picture" shows some of the green in the beds. What it doesn't show you is that the green is mostly weeds! But I'm working on that.
